Plain Rubber Pulley Lagging

Plain rubber pulley lagging sheet is a smooth, non-grooved lagging designed for conveyor systems worldwide. It is ideal for non-driving (idler/tail) drums, providing a flat, rubberized surface that extends drum life and prevents material buildup. By maintaining even belt contact without excessive friction, plain rubber lagging keeps the belt tracking smoothly and reduces wear. This makes it a reliable, cost-effective solution in mining, power plants, ports, chemical, and light-industry conveyors globally

Plain Rubber Pulley Lagging

Feature

Smooth Flat Surface: The non-patterned face of the lagging creates a large contact area with the belt, which helps prevent slippage in dry conditions. With no grooves to trap material, the surface is easy to clean and resists buildup.

High Flexibility & Shock Absorption: The rubber compound is very flexible. It absorbs shocks and vibrations from material impact, effectively damping noise and reducing wear on the conveyor

Wear and Weather Resistance: Engineered for durability, the pulley lagging shows a very low wear rate (per DIN standard tests) and remains stable across –40°C to +80°C. This ensures long life even in harsh climates and heavy-duty conditions.
Optional Flame-Retardant Rubber: A fire-resistant grade is available for underground or other applications requiring flame protection.
Bonding layer backing: Each pulley lagging sheet has a pre-applied, chemically active semi-vulcanized layer on the back. This  CN layer with cold vulcanizing adhesives to achieve very high peel strength and boosts tear resistance by ~40%. The result is a stronger, longer-lasting bond to the pulley.

Application

Drum/Idler Lagging (Tail & Bend Pulleys): Used on return and non-drive drums, plain lagging protects the pulley shell and maintains belt traction. It prevents the belt from sticking or wandering and extends pulley life by reducing abrasive wear. Typical industries include mining, power generation, ports, and bulk terminals.

Vibrating Feeder Liners: In feeder chutes, a smooth rubber lining cushions material flow and dampens impact. This substantially lowers noise (often by 5–10 dB) and wear compared to steel liners. It is popular in metallurgy and construction aggregate feed applications.

Chute & Hopper Linings: For coal, chemical, or bulk-handling chutes, plain rubber liners prevent product hang-ups and resist heavy impacts (impact index ≈90 kJ/m²). The elasticity absorbs shocks from falling material, reducing damage and downtime.

Light-Duty Conveyor Systems: In food processing, electronics, and light manufacturing conveyors, flat lagging offers economical drum protection. The smooth surface provides adequate grip for low-capacity belts while keeping maintenance simple. It helps maintain belt alignment without the cost or cleaning needs of aggressive patterns.
